How to Create Your First (or Next) Quiz with Interact!

THE TOP 3 BENEFITS FOR CREATING A QUIZ TO GROW YOUR EMAIL LIST

#1 Everyone loves quizzes (well most people do!) It’s fun and quick way to get your audience or new leads to engage and interact with you.

#2 They give you some great insights into your audience or new lead’s struggles, personality, desires and stage in their life or business (which are super useful when it comes to creating your blog, podcast or video content for your audience!).

#3 It’s easy and the fastest way to segment your email list based on the quiz result – yes you can set up different follow up email sequences based on their answers!

I created several quizes in the past and my latest quiz is a Dosha quiz for my Yoga & Ayurveda business which I created using Interact, an online quiz builder that’s going make your quiz creation process super easy!

You can create quizzes just for fun,but if you’re creating quizzes as part of lead generation (to build your email list), then I highly suggest taking time to brainstorm your quiz ideas – and create them strategically.

The great thing about Interact is that they have over 100 pre-made quiz templates that you can use straight away or tweak them to make them your own. These pre-made quiz templates are super useful to give you some ideas.

Are you ready to create your first quiz with Interact? Let’s do this!

HOW TO CREATE YOUR FIRST QUIZ WITH INTERACT

STEP 1: Create an account with Interact

Click HERE to get started! Then click ‘Make Your Own Quiz For Free‘. Enter your details and hit ‘Create Account’.

It’s free to set up and then you have two options:

If you don’t want to integrate with your email marketing service provider, then you can go for a free version. (but the thing is that the whold point of creating a quiz is to collect your ideal client/customers’s email addresses!)

Otherwise I recommend signing up for Lite, which is $29/month. You can still sign up for free and try it out for free for 14 day before you make the decision!

STEP 2: Click ‘Create New Quiz’

Make sure to select ‘Quizzes’ on the left sidebar. Then click ‘Create New Quiz’ on the right top corner.

STEP 3: Select pre-made quiz template

Click ‘Template’ to choose pre-made quiz templates which you can select and use it as it is or tweak it to make it your own.

Even you’re using your own quiz questions and results, I recommend using the template so that you have something to work from, instead of creating it from scratch. Don’t worry, you can change any element of these quizzes and style them to match your branding!

Next, select your industry. For example, if you are in health or fitness industry, select ‘Health & Fitness’ and click ‘Go to Next Step: Select Quiz Type’.

After you selected your industry, now select the quiz type – Assessment, Personality or Scored. I recommend selecting Personality type as this is the most common type.

You can now select the tepmlate for your quiz! Once you decided which template to use, click ‘+ Use This Quiz’.

Next up – select the quiz type – Assessment, Personality or Scored. I recommend selecting Personality type as my guess is that you’ll be creating a personality type quiz!

You can now select the tepmlate for your quiz! Once you decided which template to use, click ‘+ Use This Quiz’.

STEP 4: Enable lead capture to create opt-in form

Use the toggle at the top of the left sidebar to switch to Enable lead capture and data collection my quiz’ to design your opt-in form. (You can skip this step if you are on a free plan)

I recommend checking ‘First Name’ to add ‘Name’ field in the opt-in form. Also check ‘Display link to privacy policy’ and ‘Enable GDPR compliant consent checkbox on opt-in form’ enter the URL to your Privacy Policy page.

You can then edit the opt-in form content. You can also change the font size and color of the call to action button to match your branding.

Click ‘Save & Continue’ once done.

STEP 5: Integrate with your email marketing software

First, you’ll have to log-in to your email marketing service provider and create a new list, tag and automation (email sequence) setup for each result.

INTEGRATION:

And then come back to ‘Integration’ tab and select your email marketing service provider.

Click ‘Save & Continue’.

RESULTS

Select specific result and click ‘Add Action’.

And select your Contact List, Automation and Tag for each result (these are something you’ll be setting up in your email marketing software).

Once done, click ‘Save & Continue’.

ANSWERS

You can also ‘Add Action’ to specific answers your audience provided. For example, you can add a ‘Tag’ to a specific answer.

This is slightly more advanced so I suggest ignoring this step when you’re creating your first quiz (unless you are an advanced marketer!)

FIELDS

Next up, you can choose how your opt-in form fields map to your chosen email marketing service provider.

TEST

And finally, you can test integration by entering your email address, name and selecting your quiz result.

STEP 6: Edit and design your quiz!

Now, we got the boring bit out the way, we can move onto the fun part – editing and designing your quiz content!

You can switch between ‘Content’ and ‘Style’ on the left sidebar to edit and design your quiz content.

Start with ‘Cover’ page and then scroll down the left sidebar to ‘Questions’. (Skip ‘Results’ section as we are emailing the result after they completed the quiz).

Click ‘+’ icon to expand each question and edit content and add image as you wish.

Once you’ve edited the answers, click ‘Edit Result Correlations’ where you can edit correlations to each result.

Click ‘Save’ once done and move onto the next question.

STEP 7: Add redirecting URL

You won’t need to create a result page as people will receive their results via email. But we’ll need to create a ‘Thank You’ page so that when people have completed the quiz, you can redirect people to the Thank You page.

You can create Thank You page with your website platform or by using LeadPages.

Once you created a Thank You page, click ‘Redirect Results’ on the left sidebar under ‘Results’ section and check ‘Redirect All’ and enter your Thank You page URL to each result.

Click ‘Save Redirection Settings’.

STEP 8: Review your quiz!

Make sure you preview your quiz before you hit ‘Publish’.

STEP 9: Publish your quiz!

Once you’re happy with your new quiz, hit ‘Publish’.

You’ll see different options to promote your quiz.

My recommendation is embedding your quiz on your website by copying and pasting iFrame code so that you can have your custom URL for your quiz landing page.
